Once again, orchestra administraters has successfully slashed musicians salary to make up for their deficit. Case in point, the Columbus Symphony orchestra.

Parallel that story with yesterday's one about Kluger (GM) resigning Philadelphia. Philly was lamenting that the orchestra is going to have to pony up big bucks in the $700K-900K range to replace him.

Now, I realize that you really can't compare the two orchestras bugdet wise, but it seems to me that the easy solution is ALWAYS to slash musicians payroll while the administrators, EVERY SINGLE TIME, hardly ever accept reduction in pay.

I am just plained pissed off. Mad Can someone please save me from this madness?

Actually, Paul Barrett's blog -- An injury to one is an injury to all -- basically sums it up for me.

Another outstanding blog by Paul!
