This reminds me about 3 years ago there was a small orchestra in Hong Kong which was about to dismiss because of financial problem for the coming year. The music director told the reporters they intended to have a protest parade to fight for what they needed. And they had a slogan said "Proud to be a Musician" that printed on their tees.

If the audiences are happy about what you have done before, then they are your faithful supporters. They will follow the people that they have supported and appreciated for a long time and they just remember the quality of service/performance that "you" provided.

Excellent choice for the determined players of Columbus to keep playing.

More power to them, and continued good luck along this challenging yet very worthwhile path.

Hope we can see more groups that are suffering under destructive managements to reorganize, moving around such unnecessary boundaries.

Received this from a friend of the CSO: I wish them only the best.

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen of the Orchestra,

Our friends in Columbus are producing concerts to raise funds and awareness for their situation. There are two concerts. One is this weekend July, 26th and the other is August 2. They need string players. They would like to be able to drum up some monies to cover the costs of petrol and food.

There are rehearsals on the days of the concerts, so the schedule would be:

Rehearsal 3 PM Veterans Memorial Auditorium, 300 W Broad St. Columbus, OH 43215

Concert 7:30 PM

Dress, Short Sleeve White Shirt/No Tie

Program (July 26)

Italian overtures in the first half and Dvorak 8 in the second half.

Program (August 2)

Unknown to me at this time

This would be a huge gesture from our membership.

If you are so inclined, make contact with, Mike Buccicon at buccicon@yahoo.com

Everyone in the Columbus Symphony and in the Pittsburgh Symphony thanks you for your consideration,
Joe Rounds PSOC Chair

Hey, give 'em a break - they're trying to raise money.
I should suggest a "bottomless classics" concert for my orchestra.
