My understanding from various sources is that there is several dates of auditions for the position. I don't think they are done as of this date (July 12). I don't know about the one year part, although it seems unlikely as the outgoing concertmaster is officially retired rather than taking another position or just taking the year off.

Does anyone know the outcome of this audition?

They are hearing several people, in trial weeks, with the orchestra. Then they will make their decision.

I'm not sure who all of the people are, but one of them is Angela Fuller, former Concertmaster of Houston.
