Does anyone know what happened in the Pittsburgh Principal flute audition?

when was the audition for this job? maybe a call to their personnel manager would shed some light?

We have spoken to the Pittsburgh Symphony today and they did hold two successful auditions for both the Principal Flute and Tuba positions. However, those are all the details we can release at this time.

They will notify us when they are ready to go public with their announcement and then our members will be the first to hear.

It was announced via the "Flute List" that two were picked from the finals to play with the orchestra in May, when a final decision will be made. Those two flutists are Emily Skala and Demarre McGill.

Demarre McGill will join the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra as the acting principal flutist, on leave from his principal position in the San Diego Symphony. He is a graduate of Curtis and Juilliard.
