Does anyone know the status of the Principal Cello auditions for the Seattle and Milwaukee Symphonies? I know that they both took place at the beginning of October and haven't yet heard any news.

I've done some research and now know the outcome of the two auditions that I posted the question about last week. Neither position was filled. The Milwaukee Symphony didn't advance anyone to the finals. The Seattle Symphony had two people in the finals, one a member of the orchestra, but hired no one.

Close. Actually, seven people played the finals; two received majority votes from the committee, but the MD exercised his prerogative to offer the position to neither.
