Does anyone know what is going on in the St. Louis Symphony Flute section? Jennifer Nitchman is headed off to the BSO and word has it that Jan Gippo has retired.

Will there be auditions in the near future?

I just saw the piccolo position advertised in the IM. Not sure what he'll do about the second flute opening - has anyone heard?

I was wondering the same thing. I'm guessing they'll wait to have the 2nd audition next year when they know if she's staying with the BSO(?), whereas if someone retires, they don't need to wait a year. But in the meantime, someone needs to fill that spot, unless they're just going to use subs.

Maybe they will have an audition for a one year position for 2nd flute. Has anyone heard?
