There is a position advertised for Evansville, Indiana referred to as "consortium flute". It seems to be a combination of teaching and playing with the Evansville Symphony. Doesn't pay much, but I just finished Northwestern with my masters in flute, and it would be my first gig. Does anyone know anything about this, and if so, is it worth pursuing? (not for the money, but for the experience)

You might try contacting Kara DeRaad Santos. She was the flute professor there for a few years (although I don't remember why she left).
