So as many people know the music world is full of companies and the people who endorse them. These are intended to be mutually beneficial agreements, where the artist says I prefer these instruments and the company gets to have their instruments seen and heard every time said artist performs. Of course there are many people who go looking for endorsements trying to get free stuff. Well, here is the reality (as I am asked this a lot): you don't get the stuff for free! Yes, if you are a MAJOR artist then the company might give you some free stuff but for most of us it's supposed to just be a discount on those items you would already use anyway (otherwise why are you endorsing the company). So when I am asked about how I got the deals I did I have a few responses:

1) I absolutely believe these are the best products made. Otherwise I wouldn't do it.

2) I used products from these companies LONG before any deals came along.

3) It helps to know someone already with the company who can recommend you, rather than cold-calling the company. That usually looks like you just want free stuff.

4) And a biggee, I am endorsing their product as much or more than they are endorsing me. Yes they support what I do but the deal is predominately me saying "hey, I like this stuff".
