If you ever want to get refreshed by an audience do a children's concert! My ensemble performed two today and it was great to watch not just the younger kids but my older students have so much fun. They just fed off of the energy of the elementary school students they were playing for. And the audience had loads of fun to. The ensemble did a tour of the world sort of concert that features Cage's "Story from Living Room Music", "Clapping Music" by Steve Reich (who says little kids can't enjoy newer music), some steel drum band music, some Mexican marimba music and more. And it was a GREAT chance to plug music and education also.
