I find I get my best writing done on long air flights--no phone calls, students, practicing, anything---been up for 30 hours, but had a quiet flight from NY to Germany--wrote a piece for 2-part choir--my son has a project in school and the title is, 'A Different Kind of Hero'--don't you know I felt the urge to write a piece for the project with that theme as the title?? The secret about the piece is that 'a different kind of hero is the kind like you and me'. Playing Grieg 'Concerto' 4X with orchestra here--haven't played it in a couple of years--what a glorious piece of music!
