The renowned pianist-turned-pedagogue, Adele Marcus, had several recordings from the 1930s-1950s hidden in her apartment closet which were found after she passed in the mid-1990s. Through the technology of Seth Winner's expertise, we sat together and chose the best representative recordings of Adele Marcus' legacy and formulated a programmatic cd. Marcus taught many of the world's pianists, teachers as well as the pop icons Neil Sedaka and Cy Coleman. Byron Janis was perhaps her first and foremost pupil in her early teaching career. She was a pupil of Josef Lhevinne and Artur Schnabel and was the fiery and passionate teacher at The Juilliard School from 1954 until the 1990s.

Those who have heard the cd have already remarked that her Liszt 'Sonata in b minor' is perhaps the best ever played in recent memory. All proceeds of the cd will go to the Adele Marcus Foundation for scholarships. For more information, you can email Norman Krieger at pianopill@aol.com and visit his web site www.normankrieger.com. Norman is heading the foundation and is the main contact for the cd.

Hope you will enjoy it, for it is a historic recording finally available for the world to hear.
