Outside of the few festivals here and there, when symphony orchestras (for the most part) die off for the summer, what do the musicians do over the period of time? If they also teach in schools and the schools are also out for the summer, what does that leave them with? I was thinking of a chamber music festival on Long Island, but funding would be rather difficult I am sure. Any thoughts?
